Why We Created Weight Loss Wisconsin

A number of months ago at a big family gathering there were of course many pictures taken, which for most people would be a great thing…. But not for me!

When I saw myself in those photos I was truly shocked to see how overweight I appeared! I had known for some time that I needed to do something about my weight but after seeing those photos I KNEW the time had arrived to finally take action!

Now taking action is not what I wished to do but seeing myself looking so much older than I really was, and realizing that I was constantly feeling tired and lethargic, I was motivated at last to do something about it.

Several times in the past I had made a decision to change my eating habits but it always resulted in me returning to the same type of unhealthy food I had always enjoyed.  But I knew this time I was inspired enough to make a life style change that would see me eating healthy food and incorporating exercise into my daily life. I was truly lucky when I was growing up because I could eat whatever I wanted, whether it was junk food or healthy food, and never put weight on.  It was only after having children that everything started to change and I now found myself admitting that I was FAT!

After doing some research on the web and teaching myself about wholesome eating habits and the value of exercise it was time to put it all into action.  Exercising has never been my favorite thing to do but I decided that I would just start walking for 30 minutes every day.

Instead of putting myself through all sorts of strenuous exercises that I knew I wouldn’t keep up, I made the decision to start walking 30 minutes every day.  This was a fantastic way to begin and I must admit, after a few of weeks I came to look forward to going for my daily walk and found myself feeling fitter and considerably less tired.

I didn’t get into weight training or running marathons or anything full on like that, but just simply walking 30 minutes every day and eating healthy foods has made a substantial difference to my life. Because I didn’t get into calorie counting or allow myself to get obsessed about the whole process there has been no pressure involved.  You may decide you enjoy gym work and I am sure a trainer would be able to inform you of the appropriate exercises to begin with.

So my message to you is don’t get stressed out by all you believe you NEED to do.

Become knowledgeable on the subject of weight loss but also be patient with yourself as lifestyle changes take time.  Forgive yourself when you fail, and you will fail as we all do! But simply refocus and get back onto the bandwagon.  This is the way to success – NEVER give up!
